7 If you are upright, what do you give to him? or what does he take from your hand?
Is it possible for a man to be of profit to God? No, for a man's wisdom is only of profit to himself. Is it of any interest to the Ruler of all that you are upright? or is it of use to him that your ways are without sin?
If you are wise, you are wise for yourself; if your heart is full of pride, you only will have the pain of it.
In the same way, when you have done all the things which are given you to do, say, There is no profit in us, for we have only done what we were ordered to do.
O my soul, you have said to the Lord, You are my Lord: I have no good but you.

Chapter 35
Job being still silent, Elihu follows his blow, and here, a third time, undertakes to show him that he had spoken amiss, and ought to recant. Three improper sayings he here charges him with, and returns answer to them distinctly:-

Job 35:9-13
Elihu here returns an answer to another word that Job had said, which, he thought, reflected much upon the justice and goodness of God, and therefore ought not to pass without a remark. Observe,
