And they told [it] to David; and he sent to meet them, for the men were greatly ashamed. And the king said, Abide at Jericho until your beards be grown, and then return.
For my love they are mine adversaries; but I [give myself unto] prayer. And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.
And in the season he sent to the husbandmen a bondman, that they might give to him of the fruit of the vineyard; but the husbandmen, having beaten him, sent [him] away empty. And again he sent another bondman; but they, having beaten him also, and cast insult upon him, sent [him] away empty.
