12 See, brethren, lest there be in any one of you a wicked heart of unbelief, in turning away from [the] living God.
For from within, out of the heart of men, go forth evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickednesses, deceit, licentiousness, a wicked eye, injurious language, haughtiness, folly; all these wicked things go forth from within and defile the man.
For this reason we should give heed more abundantly to the things [we have] heard, lest in any way we should slip away. For if the word which was spoken by angels was firm, and every transgression and disobedience received just retribution, how shall *we* escape if we have been negligent of so great salvation, which, having had its commencement in being spoken [of] by the Lord, has been confirmed to us by those who have heard;

Chapter 3
In this chapter the apostle applies what he had said in the chapter foregoing concerning the priesthood of Christ,
Hbr 3:1-6
In these verses we have the application of the doctrine laid down in the close of the last chapter concerning the priesthood of our Lord Jesus Christ. And observe,
