19 But he answering them says, O unbelieving generation! how long shall I be with you? how long shall I bear with you? bring him to me.
And Jehovah's anger was kindled against Israel, and he made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until the whole generation was consumed that had done evil in the eyes of Jehovah. And behold, ye are risen up in your fathers' stead, a progeny of sinful men, to augment yet the fierce anger of Jehovah toward Israel.
That the generation to come might know [them], the children that should be born; that they might rise up and tell [them] to their children, And that they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of ùGod, but observe his commandments; And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation that prepared not their heart, and whose spirit was not stedfast with ùGod.
They forgot ùGod their Saviour, who had done great things in Egypt, Wondrous works in the land of Ham, terrible things by the Red Sea. And he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses, his chosen, stood before him in the breach, to turn away his fury, lest he should destroy [them]. And they despised the pleasant land; they believed not his word, But murmured in their tents: they hearkened not unto the voice of Jehovah.
Wherefore I was wroth with this generation, and said, They always err in heart; and *they* have not known my ways; so I swore in my wrath, If they shall enter into my rest. See, brethren, lest there be in any one of you a wicked heart of unbelief, in turning away from [the] living God.

The two last verses are somewhat difficult, and interpreters agree not in the sense of them; for every one in general, or rather every one of them that are cast into hell, shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt. Therefore have salt in yourselves.
