70 But he denied before all, saying, I do not know what thou sayest.
So that let him that thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall.
But to the fearful and unbelieving, [and sinners], and those who make themselves abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part [is] in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone; which is the second death.
Depart from me, ye evil-doers; and I will observe the commandments of my God. Uphold me according to thy ùword, that I may live; and let me not be ashamed of my hope. Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe; and I will have respect unto thy statutes continually.
He that confideth in his own heart is a fool; but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
A man's pride bringeth him low; but the humble in spirit shall obtain honour.
And of whom hast thou been afraid or feared, that thou hast lied, and hast not remembered me, nor taken it to heart? Have not I even of long time held my peace, and thou fearest me not?
The heart is deceitful above all things, and incurable; who can know it?
And he comes to the disciples and finds them sleeping, and says to Peter, Thus ye have not been able to watch one hour with me? Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed [is] ready, but the flesh weak. Again going away a second time he prayed saying, My Father, if this cannot pass [from me] unless I drink it, thy will be done. And coming he found them again sleeping, for their eyes were heavy.
And behold, one of those with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword, and smiting the bondman of the high priest took off his ear.
And Peter followed him at a distance, even to the palace of the high priest, and entering in sat with the officers to see the end.
