2 As G5613 newborn G738 babes, G1025 desire G1971 the sincere G97 milk G1051 of the word, G3050 that G2443 ye may grow G837 thereby: G1722 G846
For G2532 G1063 when for G1223 the time G5550 ye ought G3784 to be G1511 teachers, G1320 ye have G2192 need G5532 that one teach G1321 you G5209 again G3825 which G5101 be the first G746 principles G4747 of the oracles G3051 of God; G2316 and G2532 are become such as G1096 have G2192 need G5532 of milk, G1051 and G2532 not G3756 of strong G4731 meat. G5160 For G1063 every one G3956 that useth G3348 milk G1051 is unskilful G552 in the word G3056 of righteousness: G1343 for G1063 he is G2076 a babe. G3516
But G1161 speaking the truth G226 in G1722 love, G26 may grow up G837 into G1519 him G846 in all things, G3956 which G3739 is G2076 the head, G2776 even Christ: G5547
And G2532 I, G1473 brethren, G80 could G1410 not G3756 speak G2980 unto you G5213 as G5613 unto spiritual, G4152 but G235 as G5613 unto carnal, G4559 even as G5613 unto babes G3516 in G1722 Christ. G5547 I have fed G4222 you G5209 with milk, G1051 and G2532 not G3756 with meat: G1033 for G1063 hitherto G3768 ye were G1410 not G3768 able G1410 to bear it, neither G235 G3777 yet G2089 now G3568 are ye able. G1410
And G2532 said, G2036 Verily G281 I say G3004 unto you, G5213 Except G3362 ye be converted, G4762 and G2532 become G1096 as G5613 little children, G3813 ye shall G1525 not G3364 enter G1525 into G1519 the kingdom G932 of heaven. G3772
We are bound G3784 to thank G2168 God G2316 always G3842 for G4012 you, G5216 brethren, G80 as G2531 it is G2076 meet, G514 because G3754 that your G5216 faith G4102 groweth exceedingly, G5232 and G2532 the charity G26 of every G1538 one G1520 of you G5216 all G3956 toward G1519 each other G240 aboundeth; G4121
Therefore G3767 we are buried with G4916 him G846 by G1223 baptism G908 into G1519 death: G2288 that G2443 like as G5618 Christ G5547 was raised up G1453 from G1537 the dead G3498 by G1223 the glory G1391 of the Father, G3962 even so G3779 we G2249 also G2532 should walk G4043 in G1722 newness G2538 of life. G2222
Although my house H1004 be not so with God; H410 yet he hath made H7760 with me an everlasting H5769 covenant, H1285 ordered H6186 in all things, and sure: H8104 for this is all my salvation, H3468 and all my desire, H2656 although he make it not to grow. H6779
The law H8451 of the LORD H3068 is perfect, H8549 converting H7725 the soul: H5315 the testimony H5715 of the LORD H3068 is sure, H539 making wise H2449 the simple. H6612 The statutes H6490 of the LORD H3068 are right, H3477 rejoicing H8055 the heart: H3820 the commandment H4687 of the LORD H3068 is pure, H1249 enlightening H215 the eyes. H5869 The fear H3374 of the LORD H3068 is clean, H2889 enduring H5975 for ever: H5703 the judgments H4941 of the LORD H3068 are true H571 and righteous H6663 altogether. H3162 More to be desired H2530 are they than gold, H2091 yea, than much H7227 fine gold: H6337 sweeter H4966 also than honey H1706 and the honeycomb. H5317 H6688
But the path H734 of the just H6662 is as the shining H5051 light, H216 that shineth H215 more H1980 and more unto the perfect H3559 day. H3117
But unto you that fear H3373 my name H8034 shall the Sun H8121 of righteousness H6666 arise H2224 with healing H4832 in his wings; H3671 and ye shall go forth, H3318 and grow up H6335 as calves H5695 of the stall. H4770

Commentary on 1 Peter 2 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 2
The general exhortation to holiness is continued, and enforced by several reasons taken from the foundation on which Christians are built, Jesus Christ, and from their spiritual blessings and privileges in him. The means of obtaining it, the word of God, is recommended, and all contrary qualities are condemned (v. 1-12). Particular directions are given how subjects ought to obey the magistrates, and servants their masters, patiently suffering in well doing, in imitation of Christ (v. 13-25).
1Pe 2:1-3
The holy apostle has been recommending mutual charity, and setting forth the excellences of the word of God, calling it an incorruptible seed, and saying that it liveth and abideth for ever. He pursues his discourse, and very properly comes in with this necessary advice, Wherefore laying aside all malice, etc. These are such sins as both destroy charity and hinder the efficacy of the word, and consequently they prevent our regeneration.
1Pe 2:4-12
1Pe 2:13-25
The general rule of a Christian conversation is this, it must be honest, which it cannot be if there be not a conscientious discharge of all relative duties. The apostle here particularly treats of these distinctly.
