8 And David H1732 said H559 unto Achish, H397 But what have I done? H6213 and what hast thou found H4672 in thy servant H5650 so long as H3117 I have been with thee H6440 unto this day, H3117 that I may not go H935 fight H3898 against the enemies H341 of my lord H113 the king? H4428
Behold, here I am: witness H6030 against me before the LORD, H3068 and before his anointed: H4899 whose ox H7794 have I taken? H3947 or whose ass H2543 have I taken? H3947 or whom have I defrauded? H6231 whom have I oppressed? H7533 or of whose hand H3027 have I received any bribe H3724 to blind H5956 mine eyes H5869 therewith? and I will restore H7725 it you.
And David H1732 said, H559 What have I now done? H6213 Is there not a cause? H1697
Therefore thou shalt deal H6213 kindly H2617 with thy servant; H5650 for thou hast brought H935 thy servant H5650 into a covenant H1285 of the LORD H3068 with thee: notwithstanding, if there be H3426 in me iniquity, H5771 slay H4191 me thyself; for why shouldest thou bring H935 me to thy father? H1
And he said, H559 Wherefore doth my lord H113 thus pursue H7291 after H310 his servant? H5650 for what have I done? H6213 or what evil H7451 is in mine hand? H3027
And David H1732 said H559 to Achish, H397 Surely H3651 thou shalt know H3045 what thy servant H5650 can do. H6213 And Achish H397 said H559 to David, H1732 Therefore will I make H7760 thee keeper H8104 of mine head H7218 for ever. H3117
And Hushai H2365 said H559 unto Absalom, H53 Nay; but whom the LORD, H3068 and this people, H5971 and all the men H376 of Israel, H3478 choose, H977 his will I be, and with him will I abide. H3427 And again, H8145 whom should I serve? H5647 should I not serve in the presence H6440 of his son? H1121 as I have served H5647 in thy father's H1 presence, H6440 so will I be in thy presence. H6440
Keep H5341 thy tongue H3956 from evil, H7451 and thy lips H8193 from speaking H1696 guile. H4820 Depart H5493 from evil, H7451 and do H6213 good; H2896 seek H1245 peace, H7965 and pursue H7291 it.

Commentary on 1 Samuel 29 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 29
How Saul, who was forsaken of God, when he was in a strait was more and more perplexed and embarrassed with his own counsels, we read in the foregoing chapter. In this chapter we find how David, who kept close to God, when he was in a strait was extricated and brought off by the providence of God, without any contrivance of his own. We have him,
1Sa 29:1-5
Here is,
1Sa 29:6-11
If the reasons Achish had to trust David were stronger than the reasons which the princes offered why they should distrust him (as I do not see that, in policy, they were, for the princes were certainly in the right), yet Achish was but one of five, though the chief, and the only one that had the title of king; accordingly, in a council of war held on this occasion, he was over-voted, and obliged to dismiss David, though he was extremely fond of him. Kings cannot always do as they would, nor have such as they would about them.
