16 Then G1161 remembered I G3415 the word G4487 of the Lord, G2962 how G5613 that he said, G3004 John G2491 indeed G3303 baptized G907 with water; G5204 but G1161 ye G5210 shall be baptized G907 with G1722 the Holy G40 Ghost. G4151
He said G2036 unto G4314 them, G846 G1487 Have ye received G2983 the Holy G40 Ghost G4151 since ye believed? G4100 And G1161 they said G2036 unto G4314 him, G846 G235 We have G191 not so much as G3761 heard G191 whether G1487 there be any G2076 Holy G40 Ghost. G4151 And G5037 he said G2036 unto G4314 them, G846 Unto G1519 what G5101 then G3767 were ye baptized? G907 And G1161 they said, G2036 Unto G1519 John's G2491 baptism. G908 Then G1161 said G2036 Paul, G3972 John G2491 verily G3303 baptized G907 with the baptism G908 of repentance, G3341 saying G3004 unto the people, G2992 that G2443 they should believe G4100 on G1519 him which should come G2064 after G3326 him, G846 that is, G5123 on G1519 Christ G5547 Jesus. G2424
For I will pour H3332 water H4325 upon him that is thirsty, H6771 and floods H5140 upon the dry ground: H3004 I will pour H3332 my spirit H7307 upon thy seed, H2233 and my blessing H1293 upon thine offspring: H6631 And they shall spring up H6779 as among H996 the grass, H2682 as willows H6155 by the water H4325 courses. H2988 One shall say, H559 I am the LORD'S; H3068 and another shall call H7121 himself by the name H8034 of Jacob; H3290 and another shall subscribe H3789 with his hand H3027 unto the LORD, H3068 and surname H3655 himself by the name H8034 of Israel. H3478
Not G3756 by G1537 works G2041 of G1722 righteousness G1343 which G3739 we G2249 have done, G4160 but G235 according to G2596 his G846 mercy G1656 he saved G4982 us, G2248 by G1223 the washing G3067 of regeneration, G3824 and G2532 renewing G342 of the Holy G40 Ghost; G4151 Which G3739 he shed G1632 on G1909 us G2248 abundantly G4146 through G1223 Jesus G2424 Christ G5547 our G2257 Saviour; G4990

Commentary on Acts 11 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 11
In this chapter we have,
Act 11:1-18
The preaching of the gospel to Cornelius was a thing which we poor sinners of the Gentiles have reason to reflect upon with a great deal of joy and thankfulness; for it was the bringing of light to us who sat in darkness. Now it being so great a surprize to the believing as well as the unbelieving Jews, it is worth while to enquire how it was received, and what comments were made upon it. And here we find,

It stood where Hamath or Riblah did, which we read of in the Old Testament. It is suggested that Luke, the penman of this history, as well as Theophilus, to whom he dedicates it, was of Antioch, which may be the reason why he takes more particular notice of the success of the gospel at Antioch, as also because there it was that Paul began to be famous, towards the story of whom he is hastening. Now concerning the church at Antioch observe,
Act 11:27-30
When our Lord Jesus ascended on high he gave gifts unto men, not only apostles and evangelists, but prophets, who were enabled by the Spirit to foresee and foretel things to come, which not only served for a confirmation of the truth of Christianity (for all that these prophets foretold came to pass, which proved that they were sent of God, Deu. 18:22; Jer. 28:9), but was also of great use to the church, and served very much for its guidance. Now here we have,
