6 And G5037 he trembling G5141 and G2532 astonished G2284 said, G2036 Lord, G2962 what G5101 wilt thou have G2309 me G3165 to do? G4160 And G2532 the Lord G2962 said unto G4314 him, G846 Arise, G450 and G2532 go G1525 into G1519 the city, G4172 and G2532 it shall be told G2980 thee G4671 what G5101 thou G4571 must G1163 do. G4160
And G1161 the grace G5485 of our G2257 Lord G2962 was exceeding abundant G5250 with G3326 faith G4102 and G2532 love G26 which G3588 is in G1722 Christ G5547 Jesus. G2424 This is a faithful G4103 saying, G3056 and G2532 worthy G514 of all G3956 acceptation, G594 that G3754 Christ G5547 Jesus G2424 came G2064 into G1519 the world G2889 to save G4982 sinners; G268 of whom G3739 I G1473 am G1510 chief. G4413 Howbeit G235 for this G5124 cause G1223 I obtained mercy, G1653 that G2443 in G1722 me G1698 first G4413 Jesus G2424 Christ G5547 might shew forth G1731 all G3956 longsuffering, G3115 for G4314 a pattern G5296 to them which should hereafter G3195 believe G4100 on G1909 him G846 to G1519 life G2222 everlasting. G166
But G1161 when G3753 it pleased G2106 God, G2316 who G3588 separated G873 me G3165 from G1537 my G3450 mother's G3384 womb, G2836 and G2532 called G2564 me by G1223 his G846 grace, G5485 To reveal G601 his G846 Son G5207 in G1722 me, G1698 that G2443 I might preach G2097 him G846 among G1722 the heathen; G1484 immediately G2112 I conferred G4323 not G3756 with flesh G4561 and G2532 blood: G129
For G1063 he saith G3004 to Moses, G3475 I will have mercy on G1653 whom G3739 G302 I will have mercy, G1653 and G2532 I will have compassion G3627 on whom G3739 G302 I will have compassion. G3627 So G686 then G3767 it is not G3756 of him that willeth, G2309 nor G3761 of him that runneth, G5143 but G235 of God G2316 that sheweth mercy. G1653 For G1063 the scripture G1124 saith G3004 unto Pharaoh, G5328 Even for G3754 G1519 this G5124 same purpose G846 have I raised G1825 thee G4571 up, G1825 that G3704 I might shew G1731 my G3450 power G1411 in G1722 thee, G4671 and G2532 that G3704 my G3450 name G3686 might be declared G1229 throughout G1722 all G3956 the earth. G1093 Therefore G686 G3767 hath he mercy G1653 on whom G3739 he will G2309 have mercy, and G1161 whom G3739 he will G2309 he hardeneth. G4645 Thou wilt say G2046 then G3767 unto me, G3427 Why G5101 doth he yet G2089 find fault? G3201 For G1063 who G5101 hath resisted G436 his G846 will? G1013 Nay but, G3304 O G5599 man, G444 who G5101 art G1488 thou G4771 that repliest against G470 God? G2316 G3361 Shall G2046 the thing formed G4110 say G2046 to him that formed G4111 it, Why G5101 hast thou made G4160 me G3165 thus? G3779 G2228 Hath G2192 not G3756 the potter G2763 power G1849 over the clay, G4081 of G1537 the same G846 lump G5445 to G3739 G3303 make G4160 one vessel G4632 unto G1519 honour, G5092 and G1161 another G3739 unto G1519 dishonour? G819 What if G1487 G1161 God, G2316 willing G2309 to shew G1731 his wrath, G3709 and G2532 to make G1107 his G846 power G1415 known, G1107 endured G5342 with G1722 much G4183 longsuffering G3115 the vessels G4632 of wrath G3709 fitted G2675 to G1519 destruction: G684 And G2532 that G2443 he might make known G1107 the riches G4149 of his G846 glory G1391 on G1909 the vessels G4632 of mercy, G1656 which G3739 he had afore prepared G4282 unto G1519 glory, G1391 G3739 Even G2532 us, G2248 whom G3739 he hath called, G2564 not G3756 of G1537 the Jews G2453 only, G3440 but G235 also G2532 of G1537 the Gentiles? G1484
And G1161 as he G846 reasoned G1256 of G4012 righteousness, G1343 temperance, G2532 G1466 and G2532 judgment G2917 to come, G3195 G1510 Felix G5344 trembled, G1096 G1719 and answered, G611 Go thy way G4198 for this time; G3568 when G1161 I have G2192 G3335 a convenient season, G2540 I will call for G3333 thee. G4571 He hoped G1679 also G260 G1161 G2532 that G3754 money G5536 should have been given G1325 him G846 of G5259 Paul, G3972 that G3704 he might loose G3089 him: G846 wherefore G1352 he sent for G3343 him G846 the oftener, G4437 and G2532 communed with G3656 him. G846
Then G1161 he called G154 for a light, G5457 and sprang in, G1530 and G2532 came G1096 trembling, G1790 and fell down before G4363 Paul G3972 and G2532 Silas, G4609 And G2532 brought G4254 them G846 out, G1854 and said, G5346 Sirs, G2962 what G5101 must G1163 I G3165 do G4160 to G2443 be saved? G4982
And G5037 he shewed G518 us G2254 how G4459 he had seen G1492 an angel G32 in G1722 his G846 house, G3624 which stood G2476 and G2532 said G2036 unto him, G846 Send G649 men G435 to G1519 Joppa, G2445 and G2532 call for G3343 Simon, G4613 whose surname is G1941 Peter; G4074 Who G3739 shall tell G2980 thee G4314 G4571 words, G4487 whereby G1722 G3739 thou G4771 and G2532 all G3956 thy G4675 house G3624 shall be saved. G4982
But G1161 the Lord G2962 said G2036 unto G4314 him, G846 Go thy way: G4198 for G3754 he G3778 is G2076 a chosen G1589 vessel G4632 unto me, G3427 to bear G941 my G3450 name G3686 before G1799 the Gentiles, G1484 and G2532 kings, G935 and G5037 the children G5207 of Israel: G2474 For G1063 I G1473 will shew G5263 him G846 how great things G3745 he G846 must G1163 suffer G3958 for G5228 my G3450 name's sake. G3686 G5228
And when I passed H5674 by thee, and saw H7200 thee polluted H947 in thine own blood, H1818 I said H559 unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, H1818 Live; H2421 yea, I said H559 unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, H1818 Live. H2421 I have caused H5414 thee to multiply H7233 as the bud H6780 of the field, H7704 and thou hast increased H7235 and waxen great, H1431 and thou art come H935 to excellent H5716 ornaments: H5716 thy breasts H7699 are fashioned, H3559 and thine hair H8181 is grown, H6779 whereas thou wast naked H5903 and bare. H6181 Now when I passed H5674 by thee, and looked H7200 upon thee, behold, thy time H6256 was the time H6256 of love; H1730 and I spread H6566 my skirt H3671 over thee, and covered H3680 thy nakedness: H6172 yea, I sware H7650 unto thee, and entered H935 into a covenant H1285 with thee, saith H5002 the Lord H136 GOD, H3069 and thou becamest mine.

Commentary on Acts 9 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 9
In this chapter we have,
Act 9:1-9
We found mention made of Saul twice or thrice in the story of Stephen, for the sacred penman longed to come to his story; and now we are come to it, not quite taking leave of Peter but from henceforward being mostly taken up with Paul the apostle of the Gentiles, as Peter was of the circumcision. His name in Hebrew was Saul-desired, though as remarkably little in stature as his namesake king Saul was tall and stately; one of the ancients calls him, Homo tricubitalis-but four feet and a half in height; his Roman name which he went by among the citizens of Rome was Paul-little. He was born in Tarsus, a city of Cilicia, a free city of the Romans, and himself a freeman of that city. His father and mother were both native Jews; therefore he calls himself a Hebrew of the Hebrews; he was of the tribe of Benjamin, which adhered to Judah. His education was in the schools of Tarsus first, which was a little Athens for learning; there he acquainted himself with the philosophy and poetry of the Greeks. Thence he was sent to the university at Jerusalem, to study divinity and the Jewish law. His tutor was Gamaliel, an eminent Pharisee. He had extraordinary natural parts, and improved mightily in learning. He had likewise a handicraft trade (being bred to tent-making), which was common with those among the Jews who were bred scholars (as Dr. Lightfoot saith), for the earning of their maintenance, and the avoiding of idleness. This is the young man on whom the grace of God wrought this mighty change here recorded, about a year after the ascension of Christ, or little more. We are here told,
Act 9:10-22
As for God, his work is perfect; if he begin, he will make an end: a good work was begun in Saul, when he was brought to Christ's feet, in that word, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And never did Christ leave any that were brought to that. Though Saul was sadly mortified when he lay three days blind, yet he was not abandoned. Christ here takes care of the work of his own hands. He that hath torn will heal-that hath smitten will bind up-that hath convinced will comfort.
Act 9:23-31
Luke here makes no mention of Paul's journey into Arabia, which he tells us himself was immediately after his conversion, Gal. 1:16, 17. As soon as God had revealed his Son in him, that he might preach him, he went not up to Jerusalem, to receive instructions from the apostles (as any other convert would have done, that was designed for the ministry), but he went to Arabia, where there was new ground to break up, and where he would have opportunity of teaching, but not learning; thence he returned to Damascus, and there, three years after his conversion, this happened, which is here recorded.
Act 9:32-35
Here we have,
Act 9:36-43
Here we have another miracle wrought by Peter, for the confirming of the gospel, and which exceeded the former-the raising of Tabitha to life when she had been for some time dead. Here is,
