2 And now will I shew H5046 thee the truth. H571 Behold, there shall stand up H5975 yet three H7969 kings H4428 in Persia; H6539 and the fourth H7243 shall be far H6239 richer H6238 than they all: H1419 and by his strength H2393 through his riches H6239 he shall stir up H5782 all against the realm H4438 of Grecia. H3120
And hired H7936 counsellors H3289 against them, to frustrate H6565 their purpose, H6098 all the days H3117 of Cyrus H3566 king H4428 of Persia, H6539 even until the reign H4438 of Darius H1867 king H4428 of Persia. H6539 And in the reign H4438 of Ahasuerus, H325 in the beginning H8462 of his reign, H4438 wrote H3789 they unto him an accusation H7855 against the inhabitants H3427 of Judah H3063 and Jerusalem. H3389
And the vision H4758 of the evening H6153 and the morning H1242 which was told H559 is true: H571 wherefore shut thou up H5640 the vision; H2377 for it shall be for many H7227 days. H3117
In the third H7969 year H8141 of Cyrus H3566 king H4428 of Persia H6539 a thing H1697 was revealed H1540 unto Daniel, H1840 whose name H8034 was called H7121 Belteshazzar; H1095 and the thing H1697 was true, H571 but the time appointed H6635 was long: H1419 and he understood H995 the thing, H1697 and had understanding H998 of the vision. H4758
Therefore pride H1346 compasseth them about as a chain; H6059 violence H2555 covereth H5848 them as a garment. H7897 Their eyes H5869 stand out H3318 with fatness: H2459 they have more H5674 than heart H3824 could wish. H4906
That I might make thee know H3045 the certainty H7189 of the words H561 of truth; H571 that thou mightest answer H7725 the words H561 of truth H571 to them that send H7971 unto thee?
And behold H718 another H317 beast, H2423 a second, H8578 like H1821 to a bear, H1678 and it raised up H6966 itself on one H2298 side, H7859 and it had three H8532 ribs H5967 in the mouth H6433 of it between H997 the teeth H8128 of it: and they said H560 thus H3652 unto it, Arise, H6966 devour H399 much H7690 flesh. H1321
I saw H7200 the ram H352 pushing H5055 westward, H3220 and northward, H6828 and southward; H5045 so that no beasts H2416 might stand H5975 before H6440 him, neither was there any that could deliver H5337 out of his hand; H3027 but he did H6213 according to his will, H7522 and became great. H1431
Then said H559 he, Knowest H3045 thou wherefore I come H935 unto thee? and now will I return H7725 to fight H3898 with the prince H8269 of Persia: H6539 and when I am gone forth, H3318 lo, the prince H8269 of Grecia H3120 shall come. H935 But H61 I will shew H5046 thee that which is noted H7559 in the scripture H3791 of truth: H571 and there is none H259 that holdeth H2388 with me in these things, but Michael H4317 your prince. H8269
And he shall stir up H5782 his power H3581 and his courage H3824 against the king H4428 of the south H5045 with a great H1419 army; H2428 and the king H4428 of the south H5045 shall be stirred up H1624 to battle H4421 with a very H3966 great H1419 and mighty H6099 army; H2428 but he shall not stand: H5975 for they shall forecast H2803 devices H4284 against him.
Surely the Lord H136 GOD H3069 will do H6213 nothing, H1697 but he revealeth H1540 his secret H5475 unto his servants H5650 the prophets. H5030
If G1487 he called G2036 them G1565 gods, G2316 unto G4314 whom G3739 the word G3056 of God G2316 came, G1096 and G2532 the scripture G1124 cannot G3756 G1410 be broken; G3089
Pilate G4091 therefore G3767 said G2036 unto him, G846 Art G1488 thou G4771 a king G935 then? G3766 Jesus G2424 answered, G611 Thou G4771 sayest G3004 that G3754 I G1473 am G1510 a king. G935 To G1519 this G5124 end was G1080 I G1473 born, G1080 and G2532 for G1519 this G5124 cause came I G2064 into G1519 the world, G2889 that G2443 I should bear witness G3140 unto the truth. G225 Every one G3956 that is G5607 of G1537 the truth G225 heareth G191 my G3450 voice. G5456 Pilate G4091 saith G3004 unto him, G846 What G5101 is G2076 truth? G225 And G2532 when he had said G2036 this, G5124 he went out G1831 again G3825 unto G4314 the Jews, G2453 and G2532 saith G3004 unto them, G846 I G1473 find G2147 in G1722 him G846 no G3762 fault G156 at all.

Commentary on Daniel 11 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 11
The angel Gabriel, in this chapter, performs his promise made to Daniel in the foregoing chapter, that he would "show him what should befal his people in the latter days,' according to that which was "written in the scriptures of truth:' very particularly does he here foretel the succession of the kings of Persia and Grecia, and the affairs of their kingdoms, especially the mischief which Antiochus Epiphanes did in his time to the church, which was foretold before (ch. 8:11-12). Here is,
Dan 11:1-4
Here,
Dan 11:5-20
Here are foretold,
Dan 11:21-45
All this is a prophecy of the reign of Antiochus Epiphanes, the little horn spoken of before (ch. 8:9) a sworn enemy to the Jewish religion, and a bitter persecutor of those that adhered to it. What troubles the Jews met with in the reigns of the Persian kings were not so particularly foretold to Daniel as these, because then they had living prophets with them, Haggai and Zechariah, to encourage them; but these troubles in the days of Antiochus were foretold, because, before that time, prophecy would cease, and they would find it necessary to have recourse to the written word. Some things in this prediction concerning Antiochus are alluded to in the New-Testament predictions of the antichrist, especially v. 36, 37. And as it is usual with the prophets, when they foretel the prosperity of the Jewish church, to make use of such expressions as were applicable to the kingdom of Christ, and insensibly to slide into a prophecy of that, so, when they foretel the troubles of the church, they make use of such expressions as have a further reference to the kingdom of the antichrist, the rise and ruin of that. Now concerning Antiochus, the angel foretels here,
Of the kings that came after Antiochus nothing is here prophesied, for that was the most malicious mischievous enemy to the church, that was a type of the son of perdition, whom the Lord shall consume with the breath of his mouth and destroy with the brightness of his coming, and none shall help him.
