11 There is H383 a man H1400 in thy kingdom, H4437 in whom is the spirit H7308 of the holy H6922 gods; H426 and in the days H3118 of thy father H2 light H5094 and understanding H7924 and wisdom, H2452 like the wisdom H2452 of the gods, H426 was found H7912 in him; whom the king H4430 Nebuchadnezzar H5020 thy father, H2 the king, H4430 I say, thy father, H2 made H6966 master H7229 of the magicians, H2749 astrologers, H826 Chaldeans, H3779 and soothsayers; H1505
But at H5705 the last H318 Daniel H1841 came in H5922 before me, H6925 whose name H8036 was Belteshazzar, H1096 according to the name H8036 of my god, H426 and in whom is the spirit H7308 of the holy H6922 gods: H426 and before H6925 him I told H560 the dream, H2493 saying, O Belteshazzar, H1096 master H7229 of the magicians, H2749 because I H576 know H3046 that the spirit H7308 of the holy H6922 gods H426 is in thee, and no H3606 H3809 secret H7328 troubleth H598 thee, tell H560 me the visions H2376 of my dream H2493 that I have seen, H2370 and the interpretation H6591 thereof.
The king H4430 answered H6032 unto Daniel, H1841 and said, H560 Of H4481 a truth H7187 it is, that H1768 your God H426 is a God H426 of gods, H426 and a Lord H4756 of kings, H4430 and a revealer H1541 of secrets, H7328 seeing thou couldest H3202 reveal H1541 this H1836 secret. H7328 Then H116 the king H4430 made H7236 Daniel H1841 a great man, H7236 and gave H3052 him many H7690 great H7260 gifts, H4978 and made him ruler H7981 over H5922 the whole H3606 province H4083 of Babylon, H895 and chief H7229 of the governors H5460 over H5922 all H3606 the wise H2445 men of Babylon. H895
And we dreamed H2492 a dream H2472 in one H259 night, H3915 I and he; we dreamed H2492 each man H376 according to the interpretation H6623 of his dream. H2472 And there was there with us a young man, H5288 an Hebrew, H5680 servant H5650 to the captain H8269 of the guard; H2876 and we told H5608 him, and he interpreted H6622 to us our dreams; H2472 to each man H376 according to his dream H2472 he did interpret. H6622 And it came to pass, as he interpreted H6622 to us, so it was; me he restored H7725 unto mine office, H3653 and him he hanged. H8518 Then Pharaoh H6547 sent H7971 and called H7121 Joseph, H3130 and they brought him hastily H7323 out of the dungeon: H953 and he shaved H1548 himself, and changed H2498 his raiment, H8071 and came in H935 unto Pharaoh. H6547 And Pharaoh H6547 said H559 unto Joseph, H3130 I have dreamed H2492 a dream, H2472 and there is none that can interpret H6622 it: and I have heard H8085 say H559 of thee, that thou canst understand H8085 a dream H2472 to interpret H6622 it.

Commentary on Daniel 5 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 5
The destruction of the kingdom of Babylon had been long and often foretold when it was at a distance; in this chapter we have it accomplished, and a prediction of it the very same night that it was accomplished. Belshazzar now reigned in Babylon; some compute he had reigned seventeen years, others but three; we have here the story of his exit and the period of his kingdom. We must know that about two years before this Cyrus king of Persia, a growing monarch, came against Babylon with a great army; Belshazzar met him, fought him, and was routed by him in a pitched battle. He and his scattered forces retired into the city, where Cyrus besieged them. They were very secure, because the river Euphrates was their bulwark, and they had twenty years; provision in the city; but in the second year of the siege he took it, as is here related. We have in this chapter,
Dan 5:1-9
We have here Belshazzar the king very gay, but all of a sudden very gloomy, and in straits in the fulness of his sufficiency. See how he affronts God, and God affrights him; and wait what will be the issue of this contest; and whether he that hardened his heart against God prospered.
