1 Call H7121 now, if there be H3426 any that will answer H6030 thee; and to which of the saints H6918 wilt thou turn? H6437
Behold, he putteth no trust H539 in his saints; H6918 yea, the heavens H8064 are not clean H2141 in his sight. H5869
And he said, H559 The LORD H3068 came H935 from Sinai, H5514 and rose up H2224 from Seir H8165 unto them; he shined forth H3313 from mount H2022 Paran, H6290 and he came H857 with ten thousands H7233 of saints: H6944 from his right hand H3225 went a fiery H799 H784 law H1881 for them. Yea, H637 he loved H2245 the people; H5971 all his saints H6918 are in thy hand: H3027 and they sat down H8497 at thy feet; H7272 every one shall receive H5375 of thy words. H1703
Hast thou heard H8085 the secret H5475 of God? H433 and dost thou restrain H1639 wisdom H2451 to thyself? What knowest H3045 thou, that we know H3045 not? what understandest H995 thou, which is not in us? With us are both the grayheaded H7867 and very aged H3453 men, much H3524 elder H3117 than thy father. H1
Keep silence H2790 before me, O islands; H339 and let the people H3816 renew H2498 their strength: H3581 let them come near; H5066 then let them speak: H1696 let us come near H7126 together H3162 to judgment. H4941
Produce H7126 your cause, H7379 saith H559 the LORD; H3068 bring forth H5066 your strong H6110 reasons, saith H559 the King H4428 of Jacob. H3290 Let them bring them forth, H5066 and shew H5046 us what shall happen: H7136 let them shew H5046 the former things, H7223 what they be, that we may consider H7760 H3820 them, and know H3045 the latter end H319 of them; or declare H8085 us things for to come. H935 Shew H5046 the things that are to come H857 hereafter, H268 that we may know H3045 that ye are gods: H430 yea, do good, H3190 or do evil, H7489 that we may be dismayed, H8159 and behold H7200 it together. H3162
Wherefore G5105 seeing we also G2532 are G2192 compassed about G4029 G2254 with so great G5118 a cloud G3509 of witnesses, G3144 let G659 us G2249 lay aside G659 every G3956 weight, G3591 and G2532 the sin G266 which doth so easily beset G2139 us, and let us run G5143 with G1223 patience G5281 the race G73 that is set before G4295 us, G2254

Commentary on Job 5 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 5
Eliphaz, in the foregoing chapter, for the making good of his charge against Job, had vouched a word from heaven, sent him in a vision. In this chapter he appeals to those that bear record on earth, to the saints, the faithful witnesses of God's truth in all ages (v. 1). They will testify,
Job 5:1-5
A very warm dispute being begun between Job and his friends, Eliphaz here makes a fair motion to put the matter to a reference. In all debates perhaps the sooner this is done the better if the contenders cannot end it between themselves. So well assured is Eliphaz of the goodness of his own cause that he moves Job himself to choose the arbitrators (v. 1): Call now, if there be any that will answer thee; that is,
Now there are two things which Eliphaz here maintains, and in which he doubts not but all the saints concur with him:-
Job 5:6-16
Eliphaz, having touched Job in a very tender part, in mentioning both the loss of his estate and the death of his children as the just punishment of his sin, that he might not drive him to despair, here begins to encourage him, and puts him in a way to make himself easy. Now he very much changes his voice (Gal. 4:20), and speaks in the accents of kindness, as if he would atone for the hard words he had given him.
Job 5:17-27
Eliphaz, in this concluding paragraph of his discourse, gives Job (what he himself knew not how to take) a comfortable prospect of the issue of his afflictions, if he did but recover his temper and accommodate himself to them. Observe,
