6 And G1161 the Lord G2962 said, G2036 If G1487 ye had G2192 faith G4102 as G5613 a grain G2848 of mustard seed, G4615 ye might G302 say G3004 unto this G5026 sycamine G4807 tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, G1610 and G2532 be thou planted G5452 in G1722 the sea; G2281 and G2532 it should G302 obey G5219 you. G5213
And G1161 Jesus G2424 said G2036 unto them, G846 Because G1223 of your G5216 unbelief: G570 for G1063 verily G281 I say G3004 unto you, G5213 If G1437 ye have G2192 faith G4102 as G5613 a grain G2848 of mustard seed, G4615 ye shall say G2046 unto this G5129 mountain, G3735 Remove G3327 hence G1782 to yonder place; G1563 and G2532 it shall remove; G3327 and G2532 nothing G3762 shall be impossible G101 unto you. G5213
Jesus G2424 answered G611 and G1161 said G2036 unto them, G846 Verily G281 I say G3004 unto you, G5213 If G1437 ye have G2192 faith, G4102 and G2532 doubt G1252 not, G3361 ye shall G4160 not G3756 only G3440 do G4160 this G3440 which is done to the fig tree, G4808 but G235 also if G2579 ye shall say G2036 unto this G5129 mountain, G3735 Be thou removed, G142 and G2532 be thou cast G906 into G1519 the sea; G2281 it shall be done. G1096
Another G243 parable G3850 put he forth G3908 unto them, G846 saying, G3004 The kingdom G932 of heaven G3772 is G2076 like G3664 to a grain G2848 of mustard seed, G4615 which G3739 a man G444 took, G2983 and sowed G4687 in G1722 his G846 field: G68 Which G3739 indeed G3303 is G2076 the least G3398 of all G3956 seeds: G4690 but G1161 when G3752 it is grown, G837 it is G2076 the greatest G3187 among herbs, G3001 and G2532 becometh G1096 a tree, G1186 so that G5620 the birds G4071 of the air G3772 come G2064 and G2532 lodge G2681 in G1722 the branches G2798 thereof. G846
And G2532 Jesus G2424 answering G611 saith G3004 unto them, G846 Have G2192 faith G4102 in God. G2316 For G1063 verily G281 I say G3004 unto you, G5213 That G3754 whosoever G3739 G302 shall say G2036 unto this G5129 mountain, G3735 Be thou removed, G142 and G2532 be thou cast G906 into G1519 the sea; G2281 and G2532 shall G1252 not G3361 doubt G1252 in G1722 his G846 heart, G2588 but G235 shall believe G4100 that G3754 those things which G3739 he saith G3004 shall come to pass; G1096 he G846 shall have G2071 whatsoever G3739 G1437 he saith. G2036
It is G2076 like G3664 a grain G2848 of mustard seed, G4615 which G3739 a man G444 took, G2983 and cast G906 into G1519 his G1438 garden; G2779 and G2532 it grew, G837 and G2532 waxed G1096 G1519 a great G3173 tree; G1186 and G2532 the fowls G4071 of the air G3772 lodged G2681 in G1722 the branches G2798 of it. G846
And G2532 though G1437 I have G2192 the gift of prophecy, G4394 and G2532 understand G1492 all G3956 mysteries, G3466 and G2532 all G3956 knowledge; G1108 and G2532 though G1437 I have G2192 all G3956 faith, G4102 so G5620 that I could remove G3179 mountains, G3735 and G1161 have G2192 not G3361 charity, G26 I am G1510 nothing. Commentary on Luke 17 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 17
In this chapter we have,
Luk 17:1-10
We are here taught,
Luk 17:11-19
We have here an account of the cure of ten lepers, which we had not in any other of the evangelists. The leprosy was a disease which the Jews supposed to be inflicted for the punishment of some particular sin, and to be, more than other diseases, a mark of God's displeasure; and therefore Christ, who came to take away sin, and turn away wrath, took particular care to cleanse the lepers that fell in his way. Christ was now in his way to Jerusalem, about the mid-way, where he had little acquaintance in comparison with what he had either at Jerusalem or in Galilee. He was now in the frontier-country, the marches that lay between Samaria and Galilee. He went that road to find out these lepers, and to cure them; for he is found of them that sought him not. Observe,
Luk 17:20-37
We have here a discourse of Christ's concerning the kingdom of God, that is, the kingdom of the Messiah, which was now shortly to be set up, and of which there was great expectation.
