2 And G2532 the Pharisees G5330 came to him, G4334 and asked G1905 him, G846 Is it G1487 lawful G1832 for a man G435 to put away G630 his wife? G1135 tempting G3985 him. G846
G1161 This G5124 they said, G3004 tempting G3985 him, G846 that G2443 they might have G2192 to accuse G2723 him. G846 But G1161 Jesus G2424 stooped G2955 down, G2736 and with his finger G1147 wrote G1125 on G1519 the ground, G1093 as though he heard G4364 them not. G3361
And G1161 as he G846 said G3004 these things G5023 unto G4314 them, G846 the scribes G1122 and G2532 the Pharisees G5330 began G756 to urge G1758 him vehemently, G1171 and G2532 to provoke G653 him G846 to speak G653 of G4012 many things: G4119 Laying wait for G1748 him, G846 and G2532 seeking G2212 to catch G2340 something G5100 out of G1537 his G846 mouth, G4750 that G2443 they might accuse G2723 him. G846
But G1161 woe G3759 unto you, G5213 scribes G1122 and G2532 Pharisees, G5330 hypocrites! G5273 for G3754 ye shut up G2808 the kingdom G932 of heaven G3772 against G1715 men: G444 for G1063 ye G5210 neither G3761 go in G1525 yourselves, neither G3756 suffer ye G863 them that are entering G1525 to go in. G1525
But G1161 the Pharisees G5330 and G2532 lawyers G3544 rejected G114 the counsel G1012 of God G2316 against G1519 themselves, G1438 being G907 not G3361 baptized G907 of G5259 him. G846
Neither G3366 let us tempt G1598 Christ, G5547 as G2531 some G5100 of them G846 also G2532 tempted, G3985 and G2532 were destroyed G622 of G5259 serpents. G3789
And G1161 unto the married G1060 I command, G3853 yet not G3756 I, G1473 but G235 the Lord, G2962 Let G5563 not G3361 the wife G1135 depart G5563 from G575 her husband: G435 But G1161 and G2532 if G1437 she depart, G5563 let her remain G3306 unmarried, G22 or G2228 be reconciled G2644 to her husband: G435 and G2532 let G863 not G3361 the husband G435 put away G863 his wife. G1135
Now G1161 both G2532 the chief priests G749 and G2532 the Pharisees G5330 had given G1325 a commandment, G1785 that, G2443 if G1437 any man G5100 knew G1097 where G4226 he were, G2076 he should shew G3377 it, that G3704 they might take G4084 him. G846
The Pharisees G5330 heard G191 that the people G3793 murmured G1111 such things G5023 concerning G4012 him; G846 and G2532 the Pharisees G5330 and G2532 the chief priests G749 sent G649 officers G5257 to G2443 take G4084 him. G846
And G1161 the Pharisees G5330 also, G2532 who were G5225 covetous, G5366 heard G191 all G3956 these things: G5023 and G2532 they derided G1592 him. G846
For the LORD, H3068 the God H430 of Israel, H3478 saith H559 that he hateth H8130 putting away: H7971 for one covereth H3680 violence H2555 with his garment, H3830 saith H559 the LORD H3068 of hosts: H6635 therefore take heed H8104 to your spirit, H7307 that ye deal not treacherously. H898
And G2532 he charged G1291 them, G846 saying, G3004 Take heed, G3708 beware G991 of G575 the leaven G2219 of the Pharisees, G5330 and G2532 of the leaven G2219 of Herod. G2264
The Pharisees G5330 also G2532 came G4334 unto him, G846 tempting G3985 him, G846 and G2532 saying G3004 unto him, G846 Is it lawful G1487 G1832 for a man G444 to put away G630 his G846 wife G1135 for G2596 every G3956 cause? G156
But G1161 the Pharisees G5330 said, G3004 He casteth out G1544 devils G1140 through G1722 the prince G758 of the devils. G1140
G1161 It hath been said, G4483 G3754 Whosoever G3739 G302 shall put away G630 his G846 wife, G1135 let him give G1325 her G846 a writing of divorcement: G647 But G1161 I G1473 say G3004 unto you, G5213 That G3754 whosoever G3739 G302 shall put away G630 his G846 wife, G1135 saving G3924 for the cause G3056 of fornication, G4202 causeth G4160 her G846 to commit adultery: G3429 and G2532 whosoever G3739 G1437 shall marry G1060 her that is divorced G630 committeth adultery. Commentary on Mark 10 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 10
In this chapter, we have,
Mar 10:1-12
Our Lord Jesus was an itinerant Preacher, did not continue long in a place, for the whole land of Canaan was his parish, or diocese, and therefore he would visit every part of it, and give instructions to those in the remotest corners of it. Here we have him in the coasts of Judea, by the further side of Jordan eastward, as we found him, not long since, in the utmost borders westward, near Tyre and Sidon. Thus was his circuit like that of the sun, from whose light and heat nothing is hid. Now here we have him,
Here is,
Moses tells us,
Mar 10:13-16
It is looked upon as the indication of a kind and tender disposition to take notice of little children, and this was remarkable in our Lord Jesus, which is an encouragement not only to little children to apply themselves to Christ when they are very young, but to grown people, who are conscious to themselves of weakness and childishness, and of being, through manifold infirmities, helpless and useless, like little children. Here we have,

Note,
Mar 10:46-52
This passage of story agrees with that, Mt. 20:29, etc. Only that there were told of two blind men; here, and Lu. 18:35, only of one: but if there were two, there was one. This one is named here, being a blind beggar that was much talked of; he was called Bartimeus, that is, the son of Timeus; which, some think, signifies the son of a blind man; he was the blind son of a blind father, which made the case worse, and the cure more wonderful, and the more proper to typify the spiritual cures wrought by the grace of Christ, on those that not only are born blind, but are born of those that are blind.
