40 And G2532 they laughed G2606 him G846 to scorn. G2606 But G1161 when he had put G1544 them all G537 out, G1544 he taketh G3880 the father G3962 and G2532 the mother G3384 of the damsel, G3813 and G2532 them that were with G3326 him, G846 and G2532 entereth in G1531 where G3699 the damsel G3813 was G2258 lying. G345
And Lot H3876 went out, H3318 and spake H1696 unto his sons in law, H2860 which married H3947 his daughters, H1323 and said, H559 Up, H6965 get you out H3318 of this place; H4725 for the LORD H3068 will destroy H7843 this city. H5892 But he seemed as one that mocked H6711 unto H5869 his sons in law. H2860
He went in H935 therefore, and shut H5462 the door H1817 upon them twain, H8147 and prayed H6419 unto the LORD. H3068
But when Sanballat H5571 the Horonite, H2772 and Tobiah H2900 the servant, H5650 the Ammonite, H5984 and Geshem H1654 the Arabian, H6163 heard H8085 it, they laughed us to scorn, H3932 and despised H959 us, and said, H559 What is this thing H1697 that ye do? H6213 will ye rebel H4775 against the king? H4428
I am as one mocked H7814 of his neighbour, H7453 who calleth H7121 upon God, H433 and he answereth H6030 him: the just H6662 upright H8549 man is laughed to scorn. H7814
All they that see H7200 me laugh me to scorn: H3932 they shoot out H6358 the lip, H8193 they shake H5128 the head, H7218 saying,
Have mercy H2603 upon us, O LORD, H3068 have mercy H2603 upon us: for we are exceedingly H7227 filled H7646 with contempt. H937 Our soul H5315 is exceedingly H7227 filled H7646 with the scorning H3933 of those that are at ease, H7600 and with the contempt H937 of the proud. H3238 H1343 H1349
Give G1325 not G3361 that which G3588 is holy G40 unto the dogs, G2965 neither G3366 cast G906 ye your G5216 pearls G3135 before G1715 swine, G5519 lest G3379 they trample G2662 them G846 under G1722 their G846 feet, G4228 and G2532 turn again G4762 and rend G4486 you. G5209
He said G3004 unto them, G846 Give place: G402 for G1063 the maid G2877 is G599 not G3756 dead, G599 but G235 sleepeth. G2518 And G2532 they laughed G2606 him G846 to scorn. G2606 But G1161 when G3753 the people G3793 were put forth, G1544 he went in, G1525 and took G2902 her G846 by the hand, G5495 and G2532 the maid G2877 arose. G1453

Commentary on Mark 5 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 5
In this chapter, we have,
These three miracles we had the story of before (Mt. 8:28, etc. and Mt. 9:18, etc.) but more fully related here.
Mar 5:1-20
We have here an instance of Christ's dispossessing the strong man armed, and disposing of him as he pleased, to make it appear that he was stronger than he. This he did when he was come to the other side, whither he went through a storm; his business there was to rescue this poor creature out of the hands of Satan, and when he had done that, he returned. Thus he came from heaven to earth, and returned, in a storm, to redeem a remnant of mankind out of the hands of the devil, though but a little remnant, and did not think his pains ill bestowed.

Mar 5:21-34
The Gadarenes having desired Christ to leave their country, he did not stay to trouble them long, but presently went by water, as he came, back to the other side (v. 21), and there much people gathered to him. Note, If there be some that reject Christ, yet there are others that receive him, and bid him welcome. A despised gospel will cross the water, and go where it will have better entertainment. Now among the many that applied themselves to him,
Mar 5:35-43
Diseases and deaths came into the world by the sin and disobedience of the first Adam; but by the grace of the second Adam both are conquered. Christ, having healed an incurable disease, here goes on to triumph over death, as in the beginning of the chapter he had triumphed over an outrageous devil.
