13 And Balak H1111 said H559 unto him, Come, H3212 I pray thee, with me unto another H312 place, H4725 from whence thou mayest see H7200 them: thou shalt see H7200 but H657 the utmost H7097 part of them, and shalt not see H7200 them all: and curse H6895 me them from thence.
And it came to pass on the morrow, H1242 that Balak H1111 took H3947 Balaam, H1109 and brought him up H5927 into the high places H1116 of Baal, H1120 that thence he might see H7200 the utmost H7097 part of the people. H5971
Then Balak H1111 the son H1121 of Zippor, H6834 king H4428 of Moab, H4124 arose H6965 and warred H3898 against Israel, H3478 and sent H7971 and called H7121 Balaam H1109 the son H1121 of Beor H1160 to curse H7043 you:
And the servants H5650 of the king H4428 of Syria H758 said H559 unto him, Their gods H430 are gods H430 of the hills; H2022 therefore they were stronger H2388 than we; but H199 let us fight H3898 against them in the plain, H4334 and surely H3808 we shall be stronger H2388 than they.
And there came H5066 a man H376 of God, H430 and spake H559 unto the king H4428 of Israel, H3478 and said, H559 Thus saith H559 the LORD, H3068 Because the Syrians H758 have said, H559 The LORD H3068 is God H430 of the hills, H2022 but he is not God H430 of the valleys, H6010 therefore will I deliver H5414 all this great H1419 multitude H1995 into thine hand, H3027 and ye shall know H3045 that I am the LORD. H3068
As he loved H157 cursing, H7045 so let it come H935 unto him: as he delighted H2654 not in blessing, H1293 so let it be far H7368 from him.
Therewith G1722 G846 bless we G2127 God, G2316 even G2532 the Father; G3962 and G2532 therewith G1722 G846 curse we G2672 men, G444 which G3588 are made G1096 after G2596 the similitude G3669 of God. G2316 Out of G1537 the same G846 mouth G4750 proceedeth G1831 blessing G2129 and G2532 cursing. G2671 My G3450 brethren, G80 these things G5023 ought G5534 not G3756 so G3779 to be. G1096

Chapter 23
In this chapter we have Balak and Balaam busy at work to do Israel a mischief, and, for ought that appears, neither Moses nor the elders of Israel know any thing of the matter, nor are in a capacity to break the snare; but God, who keeps Israel, and neither slumbers nor sleeps, baffles the attempt, without any intercession or contrivance of theirs.
