9 And G2532 this G5124 I pray, G4336 that G2443 your G5216 love G26 may abound G4052 yet G2089 more G3123 and G2532 more G3123 in G1722 knowledge G1922 and G2532 in all G3956 judgment; G144
And G1161 the Lord G2962 make G4121 you G5209 to increase G4121 and G2532 abound G4052 in love G26 one G240 toward G1519 another, G240 and G2532 toward G1519 all G3956 men, even G2532 as G2509 we G2249 do toward G1519 you: G5209
And G2532 G1161 beside G846 this, G5124 giving G3923 all G3956 diligence, G4710 add G2023 to G1722 your G5216 faith G4102 virtue; G703 and G1161 to G1722 virtue G703 knowledge; G1108 And G1161 to G1722 knowledge G1108 temperance; G1466 and G1161 to G1722 temperance G1466 patience; G5281 and G1161 to G1722 patience G5281 godliness; G2150
For G1223 this cause G5124 we G2249 also, G2532 since G575 the G3739 day G2250 we heard G191 it, do G3973 not G3756 cease G3973 to pray G4336 for G5228 you, G5216 and G2532 to desire G154 that G2443 ye might be filled G4137 with the knowledge G1922 of his G846 will G2307 in G1722 all G3956 wisdom G4678 and G2532 spiritual G4152 understanding; G4907
And G2532 have put on G1746 the new G3501 man, which G3588 is renewed G341 in G1519 knowledge G1922 after G2596 the image of him G1504 that created G2936 him: G846
But G1161 as touching G4012 brotherly love G5360 ye need G2192 G5532 not G3756 that I write G1125 unto you: G5213 for G1063 ye G5210 yourselves G846 are G2075 taught of God G2312 to G1519 love G25 one another. G240 And G2532 indeed G1063 ye do G4160 it G846 toward G1519 all G3956 the brethren G80 which G3588 are in G1722 all G3650 Macedonia: G3109 but G1161 we beseech G3870 you, G5209 brethren, G80 that ye increase G4052 more and more; G3123
That G3704 the communication G2842 of thy G4675 faith G4102 may become G1096 effectual G1756 by G1722 the acknowledging G1922 of every G3956 good thing G18 which G3588 is in G1722 you G5213 in G1519 Christ G5547 Jesus. G2424
Wherefore G1223 G5124 be ye G1096 not G3361 unwise, G878 but G235 understanding G4920 what G5101 the will G2307 of the Lord G2962 is.
We are bound G3784 to thank G2168 God G2316 always G3842 for G4012 you, G5216 brethren, G80 as G2531 it is G2076 meet, G514 because G3754 that your G5216 faith G4102 groweth exceedingly, G5232 and G2532 the charity G26 of every G1538 one G1520 of you G5216 all G3956 toward G1519 each other G240 aboundeth; G4121
Let G5426 us therefore, G3767 as many as G3745 be perfect, G5046 be G5426 thus G5124 minded: G5426 and G2532 if in any thing G1536 ye be G5426 otherwise G2088 minded, G5426 God G2316 shall reveal G601 even G2532 this G5124 unto you. G5213 Nevertheless, G4133 whereto G1519 G3739 we have already attained, G5348 let us walk G4748 by the same G846 rule, G2583 let us mind G5426 the same thing. G846
Furthermore G3063 then G3767 we beseech G2065 you, G5209 brethren, G80 and G2532 exhort G3870 you by G1722 the Lord G2962 Jesus, G2424 that as G2531 ye have received G3880 of G3844 us G2257 how G4459 ye G5209 ought G1163 to walk G4043 and G2532 to please G700 God, G2316 so G2443 ye would abound G4052 more and more. G3123
Therefore, G235 as G5618 ye abound G4052 in G1722 every G3956 thing, in faith, G4102 and G2532 utterance, G3056 and G2532 knowledge, G1108 and G2532 in all G3956 diligence, G4710 and G2532 in your G5216 love G26 G1537 to G1722 us, G2254 see that G2443 ye abound G4052 in G1722 this G5026 grace G5485 also. G2532
Another G243 parable G3850 put he forth G3908 unto them, G846 saying, G3004 The kingdom G932 of heaven G3772 is G2076 like G3664 to a grain G2848 of mustard seed, G4615 which G3739 a man G444 took, G2983 and sowed G4687 in G1722 his G846 field: G68 Which G3739 indeed G3303 is G2076 the least G3398 of all G3956 seeds: G4690 but G1161 when G3752 it is grown, G837 it is G2076 the greatest G3187 among herbs, G3001 and G2532 becometh G1096 a tree, G1186 so that G5620 the birds G4071 of the air G3772 come G2064 and G2532 lodge G2681 in G1722 the branches G2798 thereof. G846 Another G243 parable G3850 spake he G2980 unto them; G846 The kingdom G932 of heaven G3772 is G2076 like G3664 unto leaven, G2219 which G3739 a woman G1135 took, G2983 and hid G1470 in G1519 three G5140 measures G4568 of meal, G224 till G2193 the whole G3650 was G3739 leavened. G2220
But the path H734 of the just H6662 is as the shining H5051 light, H216 that shineth H215 more H1980 and more unto the perfect H3559 day. H3117

Commentary on Philippians 1 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 1
He begins with the inscription and benediction (v. 1, 2). He gives thanks for the saints at Philippi (v. 3-6). He speaks of his great affection and concern for their spiritual welfare (v. 7, 8), his prayers for them (v. 9-11), his care to prevent their offence at his sufferings (v. 12-20), his readiness to glorify Christ by life or death (v. 21-26), and then concludes with a double exhortation to strictness and constancy (v. 27-30).
Phl 1:1-2
We have here the inscription and benediction. Observe,
Phl 1:3-6
The apostle proceeds after the inscription and benediction to thanksgiving for the saints at Philippi. He tells them what it was he thanked God for, upon their account. Observe here,
Phl 1:7-8
The apostle expresses the ardent affection he had for them, and his concern for their spiritual welfare: I have you in my heart, v. 7. He loved them as his own soul, and they lay near his heart. He thought much of them, and was in care about them. Observe,
Phl 1:9-11
These verses contain the prayers he put up for them. Paul often let his friends know what it was he begged of God for them, that they might know what to beg for themselves and be directed in their own prayers, and that they might be encouraged to hope they should receive from God the quickening, strengthening, everlasting, comforting grace, which so powerful an intercessor as Paul asked of God for them. It is an encouragement to us to know that we are prayed for by our friends, who, we have reason to think, have an interest at the throne of grace. It was intended likewise for their direction in their walk, and that they might labour to answer his prayers for them; for by this it would appear that God had answered them. Paul, in praying thus for them, expected good concerning them. It is an inducement to us to do our duty, that we may not disappoint the expectations of praying friends and ministers. He prayed,
Phl 1:12-20
We see here the care the apostle takes to prevent their being offended at his sufferings. He was now a prisoner at Rome; this might be a stumbling-block to those who had received the gospel by his ministry. They might be tempted to think, If this doctrine were indeed of God, God would not suffer one who was so active and instrumental in preaching and propagating it to be thrown by as a despised broken vessel. They might be shy of owning this doctrine, lest they should be involved in the same trouble themselves. Now to take off the offence of the cross, he expounds this dark and hard chapter of his sufferings, and makes it very easy and intelligible, and reconcilable to the wisdom and goodness of God who employed him.
Phl 1:21-26
We have here an account of the life and death of blessed Paul: his life was Christ, and his death was gain. Observe,
Phl 1:27-30
The apostle concludes the chapter with two exhortations:-
