27 For G1063 indeed G2532 he was sick G770 nigh G3897 unto death: G2288 but G235 God G2316 had mercy G1653 on him; G846 and G1161 not G3756 on him G846 only, G3440 but G235 on me G1691 also, G2532 lest G3363 I should have G2192 sorrow G3077 upon G1909 sorrow. G3077
Then G1161 Peter G4074 arose G450 and went with G4905 them. G846 When he G3739 was come, G3854 they brought him G321 into G1519 the upper chamber: G5253 and G2532 all G3956 the widows G5503 stood by G3936 him G846 weeping, G2799 and G2532 shewing G1925 the coats G5509 and G2532 garments G2440 which G3745 Dorcas G1393 made, G4160 while she was G5607 with G3326 them. G846 But G1161 Peter G4074 put G1544 them all G3956 forth, G1854 and kneeled down, G5087 G1119 and prayed; G4336 and G2532 turning G1994 him to G4314 the body G4983 said, G2036 Tabitha, G5000 arise. G450 And G1161 she opened G455 her G846 eyes: G3788 and G2532 when she saw G1492 Peter, G4074 she sat up. G339 And G1161 he gave G1325 her G846 his hand, G5495 and lifted G450 her G846 up, G450 and G1161 when he had called G5455 the saints G40 and G2532 widows, G5503 presented G3936 her G846 alive. G2198
Therefore G3767 his sisters G79 sent G649 unto G4314 him, G846 saying, G3004 Lord, G2962 behold, G2396 he whom G3739 thou lovest G5368 is sick. G770 When G1161 Jesus G2424 heard G191 that, he said, G2036 This G3778 sickness G769 is G2076 not G3756 unto G4314 death, G2288 but G235 for G5228 the glory G1391 of God, G2316 that G2443 the Son G5207 of God G2316 might be glorified G1392 thereby. G1223 G846
For all this I considered H5414 in my heart H3820 even to declare H952 all this, that the righteous, H6662 and the wise, H2450 and their works, H5652 are in the hand H3027 of God: H430 no man H120 knoweth H3045 either H1571 love H160 or hatred H8135 by all that is before H6440 them. All things come alike to all: there is one H259 event H4745 to the righteous, H6662 and to the wicked; H7563 to the good H2896 and to the clean, H2889 and to the unclean; H2931 to him that sacrificeth, H2076 and to him that H834 sacrificeth H2076 not: as is the good, H2896 so is the sinner; H2398 and he that sweareth, H7650 as he that feareth H3373 an oath. H7621
Their soul H5315 abhorreth H8581 all manner of meat; H400 and they draw near H5060 unto the gates H8179 of death. H4194 Then they cry H2199 unto the LORD H3068 in their trouble, H6862 and he saveth H3467 them out of their distresses. H4691 He sent H7971 his word, H1697 and healed H7495 them, and delivered H4422 them from their destructions. H7825 Oh that men would praise H3034 the LORD H3068 for his goodness, H2617 and for his wonderful works H6381 to the children H1121 of men! H120 And let them sacrifice H2076 the sacrifices H2077 of thanksgiving, H8426 and declare H5608 his works H4639 with rejoicing. H7440
[[A Psalm H4210 and Song H7892 at the dedication H2598 of the house H1004 of David.]] H1732 I will extol H7311 thee, O LORD; H3068 for thou hast lifted me up, H1802 and hast not made my foes H341 to rejoice H8055 over me. O LORD H3068 my God, H430 I cried H7768 unto thee, and thou hast healed H7495 me. O LORD, H3068 thou hast brought up H5927 my soul H5315 from the grave: H7585 thou hast kept me alive, H2421 that I should not go down H3381 H3381 to the pit. H953

Commentary on Philippians 2 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 2
The apostle proceeds to further exhortations to several duties, to be like-minded, and lowly-minded, which he presses from the example of Christ (v. 1-11), to be diligent and serious in the Christian course (v. 12, 13), and to adorn their Christian profession by several suitable graces (v. 14-18). He then concludes with particular notice and commendation of two good ministers, Timothy and Epaphroditus, whom he designed to send to them (v. 19-30).
Phl 2:1-11
The apostle proceeds in this chapter where he left off in the last, with further exhortations to Christian duties. He presses them largely to like-mindedness and lowly-mindedness, in conformity to the example of the Lord Jesus, the great pattern of humility and love. Here we may observe,
Phl 2:12-13
Phl 2:14-18
The apostle exhorts them in these verses to adorn their Christian profession by a suitable temper and behaviour, in several instances.
Phl 2:19-30
Paul takes particular notice of two good ministers; for though he was himself a great apostle, and laboured more abundantly than they all, yet he took all occasions to speak with respect of those who were far his inferiors.
