10 Destroy H816 thou them, O God; H430 let them fall H5307 by their own counsels; H4156 cast them out H5080 in the multitude H7230 of their transgressions; H6588 for they have rebelled H4784 against thee.
Let their table H7979 become a snare H6341 before H6440 them: and that which should have been for their welfare, H7965 let it become a trap. H4170 Let their eyes H5869 be darkened, H2821 that they see H7200 not; and make their loins H4975 continually H8548 to shake. H4571 Pour out H8210 thine indignation H2195 upon them, and let thy wrathful H2740 anger H639 take hold H5381 of them. Let their habitation H2918 be desolate; H8074 and let none dwell H3427 in their tents. H168
Do H6213 unto them as unto the Midianites; H4080 as to Sisera, H5516 as to Jabin, H2985 at the brook H5158 of Kison: H7028 Which perished H8045 at Endor: H5874 they became as dung H1828 for the earth. H127 Make H7896 their nobles H5081 like Oreb, H6159 and like Zeeb: H2062 yea, all their princes H5257 as Zebah, H2078 and as Zalmunna: H6759 Who said, H559 Let us take to ourselves the houses H4999 of God H430 in possession. H3423 O my God, H430 make H7896 them like a wheel; H1534 as the stubble H7179 before H6440 the wind. H7307 As the fire H784 burneth H1197 a wood, H3293 and as the flame H3852 setteth H3857 the mountains H2022 on fire; H3857 So persecute H7291 them with thy tempest, H5591 and make them afraid H926 with thy storm. H5492 Fill H4390 their faces H6440 with shame; H7036 that they may seek H1245 thy name, H8034 O LORD. H3068 Let them be confounded H954 and troubled H926 for ever; H5703 yea, let them be put to shame, H2659 and perish: H6 That men may know H3045 that thou, whose name H8034 alone is JEHOVAH, H3068 art the most high H5945 over all the earth. H776
Set H6485 thou a wicked man H7563 over him: and let Satan H7854 stand H5975 at his right hand. H3225 When he shall be judged, H8199 let him be H3318 condemned: H7563 and let his prayer H8605 become sin. H2401 Let his days H3117 be few; H4592 and let another H312 take H3947 his office. H6486 Let his children H1121 be fatherless, H3490 and his wife H802 a widow. H490 Let his children H1121 be continually H5128 vagabonds, H5128 and beg: H7592 let them seek H1875 their bread also out of their desolate places. H2723 Let the extortioner H5383 catch H5367 all that he hath; and let the strangers H2114 spoil H962 his labour. H3018 Let there be none to extend H4900 mercy H2617 unto him: neither let there be any to favour H2603 his fatherless children. H3490 Let his posterity H319 be cut off; H3772 and in the generation H1755 following H312 let their name H8034 be blotted out. H4229 Let the iniquity H5771 of his fathers H1 be remembered H2142 with the LORD; H3068 and let not the sin H2403 of his mother H517 be blotted out. H4229 Let them be before the LORD H3068 continually, H8548 that he may cut off H3772 the memory H2143 of them from the earth. H776 Because that he remembered H2142 not to shew H6213 mercy, H2617 but persecuted H7291 the poor H6041 and needy H34 man, H376 that he might even slay H4191 the broken H3512 in heart. H3824 As he loved H157 cursing, H7045 so let it come H935 unto him: as he delighted H2654 not in blessing, H1293 so let it be far H7368 from him. As he clothed H3847 himself with cursing H7045 like as with his garment, H4055 so let it come H935 into his bowels H7130 like water, H4325 and like oil H8081 into his bones. H6106 Let it be unto him as the garment H899 which covereth H5844 him, and for a girdle H4206 wherewith he is girded H2296 continually. H8548 Let this be the reward H6468 of mine adversaries H7853 from the LORD, H3068 and of them that speak H1696 evil H7451 against my soul. H5315
Remember, H2142 O LORD, H3068 the children H1121 of Edom H123 in the day H3117 of Jerusalem; H3389 who said, H559 Rase H6168 it, rase H6168 it, even to the foundation H3247 thereof. O daughter H1323 of Babylon, H894 who art to be destroyed; H7703 happy H835 shall he be, that rewardeth H7999 thee as thou hast served H1580 H1576 us. Happy H835 shall he be, that taketh H270 and dasheth H5310 thy little ones H5768 against the stones. H5553
As for the head H7218 of those that compass me about, H4524 let the mischief H5999 of their own lips H8193 cover H3680 them. Let burning coals H1513 fall H4131 H4131 upon them: let them be cast H5307 into the fire; H784 into deep pits, H4113 that they rise not up again. H6965
Cast forth H1299 lightning, H1300 and scatter H6327 them: shoot out H7971 thine arrows, H2671 and destroy H2000 them. Send H7971 thine hand H3027 from above; H4791 rid H6475 me, and deliver H5337 me out of great H7227 waters, H4325 from the hand H3027 of strange H5236 children; H1121
Now G1161 we know G1492 that G3754 what things soever G3745 the law G3551 saith, G3004 it saith G2980 to them who are under G1722 the law: G3551 that G2443 every G3956 mouth G4750 may be stopped, G5420 and G2532 all G3956 the world G2889 may become G1096 guilty G5267 before God. G2316 Therefore G1360 by G1537 the deeds G2041 of the law G3551 there shall G1344 no G3956 G3756 flesh G4561 be justified G1344 in his G846 sight: G1799 for G1063 by G1223 the law G3551 is the knowledge G1922 of sin. G266
Thine hand H3027 shall find out H4672 all thine enemies: H341 thy right hand H3225 shall find out H4672 those that hate H8130 thee. Thou shalt make H7896 them as a fiery H784 oven H8574 in the time H6256 of thine anger: H6440 the LORD H3068 shall swallow them up H1104 in his wrath, H639 and the fire H784 shall devour H398 them. Their fruit H6529 shalt thou destroy H6 from the earth, H776 and their seed H2233 from among the children H1121 of men. H120
He disappointeth H6565 the devices H4284 of the crafty, H6175 so that their hands H3027 cannot perform H6213 their enterprise. H8454 He taketh H3920 the wise H2450 in their own craftiness: H6193 and the counsel H6098 of the froward H6617 is carried headlong. H4116 They meet H6298 with darkness H2822 in the daytime, H3119 and grope H4959 in the noonday H6672 as in the night. H3915
Oh let the wickedness H7451 of the wicked H7563 come to an end; H1584 but establish H3559 the just: H6662 for the righteous H6662 God H430 trieth H974 the hearts H3826 and reins. H3629 My defence H4043 is of God, H430 which saveth H3467 the upright H3477 in heart. H3820 God H430 judgeth H8199 the righteous, H6662 and God H410 is angry H2194 with the wicked every day. H3117 If he turn H7725 not, he will whet H3913 his sword; H2719 he hath bent H1869 his bow, H7198 and made it ready. H3559 He hath also prepared H3559 for him the instruments H3627 of death; H4194 he ordaineth H6466 his arrows H2671 against the persecutors. H1814 Behold, he travaileth H2254 with iniquity, H205 and hath conceived H2029 mischief, H5999 and brought forth H3205 falsehood. H8267 He made H3738 a pit, H953 and digged H2658 it, and is fallen H5307 into the ditch H7845 which he made. H6466
The heathen H1471 are sunk down H2883 in the pit H7845 that they made: H6213 in the net H7568 which H2098 they hid H2934 is their own foot H7272 taken. H3920 The LORD H3068 is known H3045 by the judgment H4941 which he executeth: H6213 the wicked H7563 is snared H5367 in the work H6467 of his own hands. H3709 Higgaion. H1902 Selah. H5542
Draw me not away H4900 with the wicked, H7563 and with the workers H6466 of iniquity, H205 which speak H1696 peace H7965 to their neighbours, H7453 but mischief H7451 is in their hearts. H3824 Give H5414 them according to their deeds, H6467 and according to the wickedness H7455 of their endeavours: H4611 give H5414 them after the work H4639 of their hands; H3027 render H7725 to them their desert. H1576
[[A Psalm of David.]] H1732 Plead H7378 my cause, O LORD, H3068 with them that strive H3401 with me: fight H3898 against them that fight H3898 against me. Take hold H2388 of shield H4043 and buckler, H6793 and stand up H6965 for mine help. H5833 Draw out H7324 also the spear, H2595 and stop H5462 the way against H7125 them that persecute H7291 me: say H559 unto my soul, H5315 I am thy salvation. H3444 Let them be confounded H954 and put to shame H3637 that seek H1245 after my soul: H5315 let them be turned H5472 back H268 and brought to confusion H2659 that devise H2803 my hurt. H7451 Let them be as chaff H4671 before H6440 the wind: H7307 and let the angel H4397 of the LORD H3068 chase H1760 them. Let their way H1870 be dark H2822 and slippery: H2519 and let the angel H4397 of the LORD H3068 persecute H7291 them. For without cause H2600 have they hid H2934 for me their net H7568 in a pit, H7845 which without cause H2600 they have digged H2658 for my soul. H5315 Let destruction H7722 come H935 upon him at unawares; H3045 H3808 and let his net H7568 that he hath hid H2934 catch H3920 himself: into that very destruction H7722 let him fall. H5307
For the sin H2403 of their mouth H6310 and the words H1697 of their lips H8193 let them even be taken H3920 in their pride: H1347 and for cursing H423 and lying H3585 which they speak. H5608 Consume H3615 them in wrath, H2534 consume H3615 them, that they may not be: and let them know H3045 that God H430 ruleth H4910 in Jacob H3290 unto the ends H657 of the earth. H776 Selah. H5542
They search out H2664 iniquities; H5766 they accomplish H8552 a diligent H2664 search: H2665 both the inward H7130 thought of every one H376 of them, and the heart, H3820 is deep. H6013 But God H430 shall shoot H3384 at them with an arrow; H2671 suddenly H6597 shall they be wounded. H4347 So they shall make their own tongue H3956 to fall H3782 upon themselves: all that see H7200 them shall flee away. H5074
[[To the chief Musician, H5329 A Psalm H4210 or Song H7892 of David.]] H1732 Let God H430 arise, H6965 let his enemies H341 be scattered: H6327 let them also that hate H8130 him flee H5127 before H6440 him. As smoke H6227 is driven away, H5086 so drive them away: H5086 as wax H1749 melteth H4549 before H6440 the fire, H784 so let the wicked H7563 perish H6 at the presence H6440 of God. H430

Commentary on Psalms 5 Commentary Critical and Explanatory on the Whole Bible
PSALM 5
Ps 5:1-12. Upon Nehiloth—flutes or wind instruments. The writer begs to be heard, on the ground of God's regard for His covenant-people and true worshippers as contrasted with His holy hatred to the wicked. He prays for divine guidance, on account of his watchful, malignant, and deceitful enemies; and for their destruction as being also God's enemies. At the same time he expresses his confidence that God will extend aid to His people.
