1 Then Jonah prayed to Yahweh, his God, out of the fish's belly.
> Out of the depths I have cried to you, Yahweh. Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my petitions.
Behold, he will kill me; I have no hope. Nevertheless, I will maintain my ways before him.
Therefore Yahweh brought on them the captains of the host of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh in chains, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon. When he was in distress, he begged Yahweh his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers. He prayed to him; and he was entreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that Yahweh he was God.
Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me."
He will call on me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him, and honor him.
They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and have cast a stone on me. Waters flowed over my head; I said, I am cut off. I called on your name, Yahweh, out of the lowest dungeon. You heard my voice; don't hide your ear at my breathing, at my cry.
who, having received such a charge, threw them into the inner prison, and secured their feet in the stocks. But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.
