36 When it rested, he said, Return, Yahweh, to the ten thousands of the thousands of Israel.
Relent, Yahweh! How long? Have compassion on your servants! Satisfy us in the morning with your loving kindness, That we may rejoice and be glad all our days. Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, For as many years as we have seen evil. Let your work appear to your servants; Your glory to their children. Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us; Establish the work of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands.

We have here directions concerning the public notices that were to be given to the people upon several occasions by sound of trumpet. In a thing of this nature, one would think, Moses needed not to have been taught of God: his own reason might teach him the conveniency of trumpets; but the constitution of Israel was to be in every thing divine, and therefore even in this matter, small as it seems.
