7 Now therefore, my sons, listen to me. Don't depart from the words of my mouth.
"Now therefore, my sons, listen to me, For blessed are those who keep my ways. Hear instruction, and be wise. Don't refuse it. Blessed is the man who hears me, Watching daily at my gates, Waiting at my door posts. For whoever finds me, finds life, And will obtain favor from Yahweh. But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul. All those who hate me love death."
Turn your ear, and listen to the words of the wise. Apply your heart to my teaching. For it is a pleasant thing if you keep them within you, If all of them are ready on your lips. That your trust may be in Yahweh, I teach you today, even you. Haven't I written to you thirty excellent things Of counsel and knowledge, To teach you truth, reliable words, To give sound answers to the ones who sent you?
