9 Israel, trust in Yahweh! He is their help and their shield.
Trust in him at all times, you people. Pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us. Selah.
Trust in Yahweh, and do good. Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture.
House of Israel, praise Yahweh! House of Aaron, praise Yahweh! House of Levi, praise Yahweh! You who fear Yahweh, praise Yahweh!
Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice, and keep my covenant, then you shall be my own possession from among all peoples; for all the earth is mine;
Our soul has waited for Yahweh. He is our help and our shield. For our heart rejoices in him, Because we have trusted in his holy name.
For Yahweh God is a sun and a shield. Yahweh will give grace and glory. He withholds no good thing from those who walk blamelessly.
Israel, hope in Yahweh, For with Yahweh there is loving kindness. With him is abundant redemption.
Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in Yahweh, his God: Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that is in them; Who keeps truth forever;
Don't be a terror to me: you are my refuge in the day of evil. Let them be disappointed who persecute me, but let not me be disappointed; let them be dismayed, but don't let me be dismayed; bring on them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.

Many ancient translations join this psalm to that which goes next before it, the Septuagint particularly, and the vulgar Latin; but it is, in the Hebrew, a distinct psalm. In it we are taught to give glory,
Some think this psalm was penned upon occasion of some great distress and trouble that the church of God was in, when the enemies were in insolent and threatening, in which case the church does not so much pour out her complaint to God as place her confidence in God, and triumph in doing so; and with such a holy triumph we ought to sing this psalm.
