8 and three are who are testifying in the earth', the Spirit, and the water, and the blood, and the three are into the one.
And while they were eating, Jesus having taken the bread, and having blessed, did brake, and was giving to the disciples, and said, `Take, eat, this is my body;' and having taken the cup, and having given thanks, he gave to them, saying, `Drink ye of it -- all; for this is my blood of the new covenant, that for many is being poured out -- to remission of sins;
and there came suddenly out of the heaven a sound as of a bearing violent breath, and it filled all the house where they were sitting, and there appeared to them divided tongues, as it were of fire; it sat also upon each one of them, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, according as the Spirit was giving them to declare.
This one is he who did come through water and blood -- Jesus the Christ, not in the water only, but in the water and the blood; and the Spirit it is that is testifying, because the Spirit is the truth, because three are who are testifying `in the heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit, and these -- the three -- are one;

In this chapter the apostle asserts,

The faith of the Christian believer (or the believer in Christ) being thus mighty and victorious, it had need to be well founded, to be furnished with unquestionable celestial evidence concerning the divine mission, authority, and office of the Lord Jesus; and it is so; he brings his credentials along with him, and he brings them in a way by which he came and in the witness that attends him.
