16 `Ye do not try Jehovah your God as ye tried in Massah;
Harden not your heart as `in' Meribah, As `in' the day of Massah in the wilderness, Where your fathers have tried Me, Have proved Me, yea, have seen My work.
ye may not harden your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of the temptation in the wilderness, in which tempt Me did your fathers, they did prove Me, and saw My works forty years;
And they journey from mount Hor, the way of the Red Sea, to compass the land of Edom, and the soul of the people is short in the way, and the people speak against God, and against Moses, `Why hast thou brought us up out of Egypt to die in a wilderness? for there is no bread, and there is no water, and our soul hath been weary of this light bread.'
