6 Hear, I pray you, my argument, And to the pleadings of my lips attend,
Hear ye diligently my word, And this is your consolation. Bear with me, and I speak, And after my speaking -- ye may deride.
And yet, I pray thee, O Job, Hear my speech and `to' all my words give ear. Lo, I pray thee, I have opened my mouth, My tongue hath spoken in the palate. Of the uprightness of my heart `are' my sayings, And knowledge have my lips clearly spoken.

Job here comes to make application of what he had said in the foregoing chapter; and now we have him not in so good a temper as he was in then: for,
