1 Samuel 18:16 - But all Israel and Judah loved David, H1732 because he went out and came in before them.
1 Samuel 18:17 - And Saul said to David, H1732 Behold my elder daughter Merab, her will I give thee to wife: only be thou valiant for me, and fight the LORD'S battles. For Saul said, Let not mine hand be upon him, but let the hand of the Philistines be upon him.
1 Samuel 18:18 - And David H1732 said unto Saul, Who am I? and what is my life, or my father's family in Israel, that I should be son in law to the king?
1 Samuel 18:19 - But it came to pass at the time when Merab Saul's daughter should have been given to David, H1732 that she was given unto Adriel the Meholathite to wife.
1 Samuel 18:20 - And Michal Saul's daughter loved David: H1732 and they told Saul, and the thing pleased him.
1 Samuel 18:21 - And Saul said, I will give him her, that she may be a snare to him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him. Wherefore Saul said to David, H1732 Thou shalt this day be my son in law in the one of the twain.
1 Samuel 18:22 - And Saul commanded his servants, saying, Commune with David H1732 secretly, and say, Behold, the king hath delight in thee, and all his servants love thee: now therefore be the king's son in law.
1 Samuel 18:23 - And Saul's servants spake those words in the ears of David. H1732 And David H1732 said, Seemeth it to you a light thing to be a king's son in law, seeing that I am a poor man, and lightly esteemed?
1 Samuel 18:24 - And the servants of Saul told him, saying, On this manner spake David. H1732
1 Samuel 18:25 - And Saul said, Thus shall ye say to David, H1732 The king desireth not any dowry, but an hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to be avenged of the king's enemies. But Saul thought to make David H1732 fall by the hand of the Philistines.
1 Samuel 18:26 - And when his servants told David H1732 these words, it pleased David H1732 well to be the king's son in law: and the days were not expired.
1 Samuel 18:27 - Wherefore David H1732 arose and went, he and his men, and slew of the Philistines two hundred men; and David H1732 brought their foreskins, and they gave them in full tale to the king, that he might be the king's son in law. And Saul gave him Michal his daughter to wife.
1 Samuel 18:28 - And Saul saw and knew that the LORD was with David, H1732 and that Michal Saul's daughter loved him.
1 Samuel 18:29 - And Saul was yet the more afraid of David; H1732 and Saul became David's H1732 enemy continually.
1 Samuel 18:30 - Then the princes of the Philistines went forth: and it came to pass, after they went forth, that David H1732 behaved himself more wisely than all the servants of Saul; so that his name was much set by.
1 Samuel 19:1 - And Saul spake to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, that they should kill David. H1732
1 Samuel 19:2 - But Jonathan Saul's son delighted much in David: H1732 and Jonathan told David, H1732 saying, Saul my father seeketh to kill thee: now therefore, I pray thee, take heed to thyself until the morning, and abide in a secret place, and hide thyself:
1 Samuel 19:4 - And Jonathan spake good of David H1732 unto Saul his father, and said unto him, Let not the king sin against his servant, against David; H1732 because he hath not sinned against thee, and because his works have been to thee-ward very good:
1 Samuel 19:5 - For he did put his life in his hand, and slew the Philistine, and the LORD wrought a great salvation for all Israel: thou sawest it, and didst rejoice: wherefore then wilt thou sin against innocent blood, to slay David H1732 without a cause?
1 Samuel 19:7 - And Jonathan called David, H1732 and Jonathan shewed him all those things. And Jonathan brought David H1732 to Saul, and he was in his presence, as in times past.
1 Samuel 19:8 - And there was war again: and David H1732 went out, and fought with the Philistines, and slew them with a great slaughter; and they fled from him.
1 Samuel 19:9 - And the evil spirit from the LORD was upon Saul, as he sat in his house with his javelin in his hand: and David H1732 played with his hand.
1 Samuel 19:10 - And Saul sought to smite David H1732 even to the wall with the javelin; but he slipped away out of Saul's presence, and he smote the javelin into the wall: and David H1732 fled, and escaped that night.
1 Samuel 19:11 - Saul also sent messengers unto David's H1732 house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning: and Michal David's H1732 wife told him, saying, If thou save not thy life to night, to morrow thou shalt be slain.
1 Samuel 19:12 - So Michal let David H1732 down through a window: and he went, and fled, and escaped.
1 Samuel 19:14 - And when Saul sent messengers to take David, H1732 she said, He is sick.
1 Samuel 19:15 - And Saul sent the messengers again to see David, H1732 saying, Bring him up to me in the bed, that I may slay him.
1 Samuel 19:18 - So David H1732 fled, and escaped, and came to Samuel to Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and dwelt in Naioth.
1 Samuel 19:19 - And it was told Saul, saying, Behold, David H1732 is at Naioth in Ramah.
1 Samuel 19:20 - And Saul sent messengers to take David: H1732 and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as appointed over them, the Spirit of God was upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.
1 Samuel 19:22 - Then went he also to Ramah, and came to a great well that is in Sechu: and he asked and said, Where are Samuel and David? H1732 And one said, Behold, they be at Naioth in Ramah.
1 Samuel 20:1 - And David H1732 fled from Naioth in Ramah, and came and said before Jonathan, What have I done? what is mine iniquity? and what is my sin before thy father, that he seeketh my life?
1 Samuel 20:3 - And David H1732 sware moreover, and said, Thy father certainly knoweth that I have found grace in thine eyes; and he saith, Let not Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved: but truly as the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, there is but a step between me and death.
1 Samuel 20:4 - Then said Jonathan unto David, H1732 Whatsoever thy soul desireth, I will even do it for thee.
1 Samuel 20:5 - And David H1732 said unto Jonathan, Behold, to morrow is the new moon, and I should not fail to sit with the king at meat: but let me go, that I may hide myself in the field unto the third day at even.
1 Samuel 20:6 - If thy father at all miss me, then say, David H1732 earnestly asked leave of me that he might run to Bethlehem his city: for there is a yearly sacrifice there for all the family.
1 Samuel 20:10 - Then said David H1732 to Jonathan, Who shall tell me? or what if thy father answer thee roughly?
1 Samuel 20:11 - And Jonathan said unto David, H1732 Come, and let us go out into the field. And they went out both of them into the field.
1 Samuel 20:12 - And Jonathan said unto David, H1732 O LORD God of Israel, when I have sounded my father about to morrow any time, or the third day, and, behold, if there be good toward David, H1732 and I then send not unto thee, and shew it thee;
1 Samuel 20:15 - But also thou shalt not cut off thy kindness from my house for ever: no, not when the LORD hath cut off the enemies of David H1732 every one from the face of the earth.
1 Samuel 20:16 - So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, H1732 saying, Let the LORD even require it at the hand of David's H1732 enemies.
1 Samuel 20:17 - And Jonathan caused David H1732 to swear again, because he loved him: for he loved him as he loved his own soul.
1 Samuel 20:18 - Then Jonathan said to David, H1732 To morrow is the new moon: and thou shalt be missed, because thy seat will be empty.
1 Samuel 20:24 - So David H1732 hid himself in the field: and when the new moon was come, the king sat him down to eat meat.
1 Samuel 20:25 - And the king sat upon his seat, as at other times, even upon a seat by the wall: and Jonathan arose, and Abner sat by Saul's side, and David's H1732 place was empty.
1 Samuel 20:27 - And it came to pass on the morrow, which was the second day of the month, that David's H1732 place was empty: and Saul said unto Jonathan his son, Wherefore cometh not the son of Jesse to meat, neither yesterday, nor to day?
1 Samuel 20:28 - And Jonathan answered Saul, David H1732 earnestly asked leave of me to go to Bethlehem:
1 Samuel 20:33 - And Saul cast a javelin at him to smite him: whereby Jonathan knew that it was determined of his father to slay David. H1732
1 Samuel 20:34 - So Jonathan arose from the table in fierce anger, and did eat no meat the second day of the month: for he was grieved for David, H1732 because his father had done him shame.
1 Samuel 20:35 - And it came to pass in the morning, that Jonathan went out into the field at the time appointed with David, H1732 and a little lad with him.
