3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
3 Ye ask, G154 and G2532 receive G2983 not, G3756 because G1360 ye ask G154 amiss, G2560 that G2443 ye may consume G1159 it upon G1722 your G5216 lusts. G2237
3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may spend `it' in your pleasures.
3 ye ask, and ye receive not, because evilly ye ask, that in your pleasures ye may spend `it'.
3 Ye ask and receive not, because ye ask evilly, that ye may consume [it] in your pleasures.
3 You ask, and don't receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures.
3 You make your request but you do not get it, because your request has been wrongly made, desiring the thing only so that you may make use of it for your pleasure.
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings.

But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.
Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the LORD of hosts:
Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble.
Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them.
The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?
Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.
Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.

Jam 4:11-17
In this part of the chapter,
