¹ And the lot of the children of Joseph fell from Jordan by Jericho, unto the water of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness that goeth up from Jericho throughout mount Bethel,

² And goeth out from Bethel to Luz, and passeth along unto the borders of Archi to Ataroth,

³ And goeth down westward to the coast of Japhleti, unto the coast of Bethhoron the nether, and to Gezer; and the goings out thereof are at the sea.

⁴ So the children of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, took their inheritance.

⁵ And the border of the children of Ephraim according to their families was thus: even the border of their inheritance on the east side was Atarothaddar, unto Bethhoron the upper;

⁶ And the border went out toward the sea to Michmethah on the north side; and the border went about eastward unto Taanathshiloh, and passed by it on the east to Janohah;

⁷ And it went down from Janohah to Ataroth, and to Naarath, and came to Jericho, and went out at Jordan.

⁸ The border went out from Tappuah westward unto the river Kanah; and the goings out thereof were at the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim by their families.

⁹ And the separate cities for the children of Ephraim were among the inheritance of the children of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages.

¹⁰ And they drave not out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer: but the Canaanites dwell among the Ephraimites unto this day, and serve under tribute.

³ And goeth down ^H3381 westward ^H3220 to the coast ^H1366 of Japhleti, ^H3311 unto the coast ^H1366 of Bethhoron ^H1032 the nether, ^H8481 and to Gezer: ^H1507 and the goings out ^H8444 thereof are at the sea. ^H3220

⁴ So the children ^H1121 of Joseph, ^H3130 Manasseh ^H4519 and Ephraim, ^H669 took their inheritance. ^H5157

⁵ And the border ^H1366 of the children ^H1121 of Ephraim ^H669 according to their families ^H4940 was thus: even the border ^H1366 of their inheritance ^H5159 on the east side ^H4217 was Atarothaddar, ^H5853 unto Bethhoron ^H1032 the upper; ^H5945

⁶ And the border ^H1366 went out ^H3318 toward the sea ^H3220 to Michmethah ^H4366 on the north side; ^H6828 and the border ^H1366 went about ^H5437 eastward ^H4217 unto Taanathshiloh, ^H8387 and passed ^H5674 by it on the east ^H4217 to Janohah; ^H3239

⁷ And it went down ^H3381 from Janohah ^H3239 to Ataroth, ^H5852 and to Naarath, ^H5292 and came ^H6293 to Jericho, ^H3405 and went out ^H3318 at Jordan. ^H3383

⁸ The border ^H1366 went out ^H3212 from Tappuah ^H8599 westward ^H3220 unto the river ^H5158 Kanah; ^H7071 and the goings out ^H8444 thereof were at the sea. ^H3220 This is the inheritance ^H5159 of the tribe ^H4294 of the children ^H1121 of Ephraim ^H669 by their families. ^H4940

⁹ And the separate ^H3995 cities ^H5892 for the children ^H1121 of Ephraim ^H669 were among ^H8432 the inheritance ^H5159 of the children ^H1121 of Manasseh, ^H4519 all the cities ^H5892 with their villages. ^H2691

¹⁰ And they drave not out ^H3423 the Canaanites ^H3669 that dwelt ^H3427 in Gezer: ^H1507 but the Canaanites ^H3669 dwell ^H3427 among ^H7130 the Ephraimites ^H669 unto this day, ^H3117 and serve ^H5647 under tribute. ^H4522

⁸ From Tappuah the border went along westward to the brook of Kanah; and the goings out thereof were at the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim according to their families;

⁹ together with the cities which were set apart for the children of Ephraim in the midst of the inheritance of the children of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages.

¹⁰ And they drove not out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer: but the Canaanites dwell in the midst of Ephraim unto this day, and are become servants to do taskwork.

¹ And the lot for the sons of Joseph goeth out from Jordan `by' Jericho, to the waters of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness going up from Jericho in the hill-country of Beth-El,

² and hath gone out from Beth-El to Luz, and passed over unto the border of Archi `to' Ataroth,

³ and gone down westward unto the border of Japhleti, unto the border of Beth-Horon the lower, and unto Gezer, and its outgoings have been at the sea.

⁷ and gone down from Janohah `to' Ataroth, and to Naarath, and touched against Jericho, and gone out at the Jordan.

⁸ From Tappuah the border goeth westward unto the brook of Kanah, and its outgoings have been at the sea: this `is' the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, for their families.

⁹ And the separate cities of the sons of Ephraim `are' in the midst of the inheritance of the sons of Manasseh, all the cities and their villages;

¹⁰ and they have not dispossessed the Canaanite who is dwelling in Gezer, and the Canaanite dwelleth in the midst of Ephraim unto this day, and is to tribute -- a servant.

⁸ From Tappuah the border went westwards to the torrent Kanah, and ended at the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim according to their families,

⁹ with the cities that were set apart for the children of Ephraim in the midst of the inheritance of the children of Manasseh, all the cities and their hamlets.

¹⁰ But they did not dispossess the Canaanites that dwelt at Gezer; and the Canaanites dwell in the midst of Ephraim to this day, and serve under tribute.

¹ And the limit of the land marked out for the children of Joseph went out from Jordan at Jericho, at the waters of Jericho on the east, in the waste land, going up from Jericho through the hill-country to Beth-el;

² And it goes out from Beth-el to Luz, and on as far as the limit of the Archites to Ataroth;

³ And it goes down to the west to the limit of the Japhletites, to the limit of Beth-horon the lower, as far as Gezer; ending at the sea.

⁴ And the children of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, took their heritage.

⁵ And the limit of the land of the children of Ephraim by their families was marked out in this way: the limit of their heritage to the east was Ataroth-addar, to Beth-horon the higher;

⁶ The line goes out to the west at Michmethath on the north; then turning to the east to Taanath-shiloh, going past it on the east of Janoah;

⁷ And from Janoah down to Ataroth, and to Naarah, and touching Jericho, it goes on to Jordan.

⁸ From Tappuah the line goes on to the west to the river of Kanah; ending at the sea. This is the heritage of the children of Ephraim by their families;

⁹ Together with the towns marked out for the children of Ephraim in the heritage of Manasseh, all the towns with their unwalled places.

¹⁰ And the Canaanites who were living in Gezer were not forced out; but the Canaanites have been living among Ephraim, to this day, as servants, doing forced work.
