17 He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.
A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.
A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
Then Ahimelech answered the king, and said, And who is so faithful among all thy servants as David, which is the king's son in law, and goeth at thy bidding, and is honorable in thine house? Did I then begin to inquire of God for him? be it far from me: let not the king impute any thing unto his servant, nor to all the house of my father: for thy servant knew nothing of all this, less or more.
A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.
A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly.
Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause; and deceive not with thy lips.
Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;
And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law:
